Safe, Engaging Activities

We believe that being active and engaged socially promotes a sense of well-being. Our residents are invited to join in art classes, exercise programs, book groups, current events, live musical performances, and community events. Outdoor gardens and courtyards provide a safe and tranquil setting for relaxing and visiting with friends and families.

Our 50-bed Rehabilitation and Continuing Care facility offers both private rooms and semi-private rooms. All rooms are equipped with WiFi service.

Person-Centered Care for Alzheimer’s & Dementia

For long-term residents who have advanced Alzheimer’s, dementia or other cognitive impairment, our Dementia-Certified staff plans care based on up-to-date research and an individualized plan. Rehabilitation exercises, suited to each individual, help residents stay as active and comfortable as possible.

Music & Memory equips memory impaired patients with an mp3 player, headphones, and a personalized playlist that can have a dramatic impact in improving a resident’s emotional well-being. Our Companion Aides are specially trained in providing person-centered dementia care, with a focus on understanding behaviors and responding in positive, supportive ways to residents’ moment-to-moment needs.

We provide excellent nutrition, with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Our lounges have been transformed to support both relaxation and healthful activity. We also offer aromatherapy, soothing tactile stimulation, guided meditation, massage and other relaxation activities as needed.

End-of-Life Palliative Care

When the end of life approaches, our palliative care helps a resident to live his or her last days as richly and comfortably as possible. At the core of this work is compassion and respect for the individual. Together with family members, we strive to make this final journey peaceful, comforting and life-affirming.

"Your staff was extremely compassionate and supportive, and we all appreciated it greatly, particularly in my mother's last couple of days."
Seth VandeGriek, son of Mayo resident
