The Mayo Healthcare Community

At Mayo Healthcare, we are a community.

Our high staff-to-resident ratio supports individualized care and attention, and we make a personal commitment to bring warmth, compassion, and humor to every one of our interactions. We treat all our residents and staff as people, deserving of attention, compassion and respect.

Comfortable Rooms, Fresh Local Food

Whether private or semi-private, all our rooms are comfortable and clean, with windows and storage space. All rooms have WiFi service.

We are proud of our food! The menu at Mayo’s dining room often includes dishes made with local farm products. All our meals are home-cooked, and they’re of excellent quality, with fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables and scratch-made baked goods.

Guests are always welcome to join us for meals, with very little notice.

Inviting Spaces for Visits with Family & Friends

We work closely with family members to develop individualized care plans — and we encourage visits from loved ones and friends. Our beautiful library, with its cozy wingback chairs and fireplace, offers a quiet space to visit, or just to curl up with a book. Our comfortable lounges are havens for get-togethers of all sorts, and our solarium is a warm, sunny spot for socializing.

Live Music & Activities for Many Interests

Each month we feature several live music performances, in various styles — classical, choral, country, and more. We offer regular social activities: coffee hours, guest speakers and presentations, movies, ice cream socials, sports-watching parties with beer, pet visits and more.

From art workshops to bread making, from a reading circle to lively bingo, our planned activities promote creativity and help residents stay engaged, interested, and positively involved. It’s vital to have fun, and we do! We also host regular church services, and our Bone Builders group helps residents stay physically active and strong.

Van Trips to Shopping, Dining & Special Events

The Mayo van leaves on frequent outings, to Northfield and into nearby Montpelier, Barre, and Waterbury for shopping, dining, and special community events such as concerts and theater. We also bring residents to doctor’s appointments and similar commitments outside the facility.
