Heidi Passalacqua, RN, of Northfield, has been promoted to the manager of residential care at Mayo Healthcare, where she will lead all aspects of care for residents and work as an interdisciplinary member of the care team. Heidi will oversee residents’ activities of daily living and manage other aspects of care such as nutritional needs and clinical. Heidi worked at Mayo from 2010 – 2015, then returned to Mayo in 2019 with a background in home health. She was a clinical liaison before becoming the manager of residential care.

Mayo Residential Care is currently a 48-bed facility and shares the campus with Mayo Healthcare’s continuing care. The healthcare facility helps residents to remain as independent as possible within an assisted living framework. Mayo also offers memory care, rehabilitation services, and skilled nursing.

Using her skills, and as she says, her gifts, Heidi matches each resident with the best care plan. “I have enjoyed many different positions in life, and among them all, a common thread is serving people in different capacities,” she noted. “Each of our residents have chosen Mayo as their home. I am here to provide for others, to put all the pieces together with our team, our families.
Mayo Healthcare is a special place and I am honored to be a part of it.”

“Heidi is one of the most selfless people I know,” noted Timothy McAdoo, Executive Director at Mayo Healthcare. “Person-Centered Care defines Heidi’s life as a caregiver, and she thrives at Mayo. Seniors are more and more frequently coming into care with clinically complex and acute medical needs. Mayo’s steadfast care structure allows her to connect to community, take the lead, see the big picture, and create a vision for each resident.”

Mayo Healthcare continues to adapt to the post-COVID environment, McAdoo notes, which changes everyone’s job. Heidi, and other Mayo Healthcare staff, are key to this effort. “At this point we are beginning to see the effects of the pandemic; this toll is especially high given the stress and pressure on our front-line healthcare workers. We have transformed and adapted to make living at Mayo just as special as it can be. This success is due to the dedication and creativity of our staff, and Heidi is a stellar example. ”

Since 1939, Mayo Healthcare has been a local treasure in Northfield. Offering licensed residential care and memory care services for elderly adults, plus expert rehabilitation and a compassionate, supportive skilled nursing, Mayo Healthcare’s mission is to provide exceptional, high-quality health care that exceeds the expectations of our residents and families, and to promote and maintain an environment in which every resident, every family member, and every staff member feels respected and valued.
